Activity:
For this weeks activity we introduced patterns and sequences by drawing different shapes (triangle, square, rectangle, circle, pentagon, hexagon and diamond) and patterns (colourful line sequences) and then asked the children to try and draw the sequence or pattern themselves. We also used number sequences by deliberately missing out certain numbers in a sequence and then asking the children to fill in the missing number gaps. We spoke about and drew different size objects and tried sorting objects from small to large and large to small to help them understand the difference in size and also perspective.
We spoke about different size objects from around the site and asked the children to try to invent their own patterns or sequences using natural materials found around the site.
