Why choose The Woodland Nursery?
Following on from Ofsted inspections at both of our nurseries we are extremely pleased that both settings received a rating of Outstanding in all areas.

The Woodland Nursery is an outdoor nursery for 2 to 5 year olds based on the Forest School approach. We believe in the Forest School ethos that the closer to nature children are, the happier they will be and therefore the more likely they are to learn. Our Forest School nurseries are located in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, South East London and offer a unique outdoor experience, all round education and whole bucket load of messy fun.

Free to explore nature's riches, a child’s senses are heightened which enhances their creative and imaginative play. Our Forest School Nursery embraces the outdoors as an inspirational learning environment focused on the child’s learning needs rather than specific outcomes. As the children explore and experience the natural world on a regular and sustained basis, a Forest School is a unique way of building confidence, boosting self esteem, learning new life skills and promoting independence through hands on learning experiences.
The idea of taking the classroom outside was originally conceived in Sweden in the 1950s and this type of nursery is now commonplace throughout Scandinavia and many European countries. Being outside allows a child to reconnect with nature and gain a practical understanding of the world around them.

Some kind words from a few of our parents and visitors
Julie Scott (Governor Services Mgr. Professional Development Centre - Greenwich):
"The freedom and space the children had to explore and learn was wonderful, they were all so confident and willing to share what they were doing and how exciting it was. It was great to watch their enthusiasm for their environment, mud pies, digging holes and collecting leaves and feathers.
I just wish it was closer to where I live, my grandson would have loved it."

Sarah (mother of Henry aged 2):
"The team are committed and creative and offer something quite unique in their outdoor approach, which I have not seen elsewhere. Our son loves the time he spends at The Woodland Nursery and we have seen his speech, his social skills and his physical confidence come on tremendously since he started. We unreservedly recommend it."
Stephanie (mother Layton aged 2):
"The teams calming approach makes us totally confident leaving our son at The Woodland Nursery. All of us look forward to Friday's coming around. Their ability to inspire, excite and motivate our 2 year old is amazing."
Rachael (mother of Byron aged 3):
"We feel the benefits of an outdoor based education are immense and he is extremely lucky to be able to experience this at his age. We particularly appreciate the value of him learning to evaluate risks for himself in his surrounding environment."
Linda (mother of Addison aged 3):
"I have really noticed a change in my daughters confidence and physical abilities since attending classes with you."
Victoria (mother of Lara aged 4):
